Like any hotly anticipated product, there has been a lot of speculation about when Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 will be revealed. Well, now Samsung has given an official date…
Samsung’s newest Galaxy phone is set to be revealed at a New York event in August, less that three weeks from now.
“Samsung Electronics will reveal the latest member of the Galaxy family at this year’s highly anticipated Unpacked, on 23 August 2017, in New York City,” the company said in a press release.
“Billed as the ultimate multitasking device for those who want to do bigger things with their phone, the revolutionary addition to the Samsung Galaxy family was specifically designed for people who break through barriers to do more,” Samsung added.
The Note 8 isn’t explicitly mentioned in the press release, but unless Samsung breaks from years of tradition and surprises us with a new phone – the Note 8 is set to be the device which will be unveiled.
Like the previous Galaxy Unpacked event, viewers from around the world will be able to tune into the event via livestream.
What Are People Expecting From The Note 8?
There has been no official confirmation from Samsung about what the Note 8 will include in terms of hardware and features.
However, this doesn’t stop the rumour mill from churning – or from information being released via leaks.
Venturebeat writer Evan Blass provided quite a bit of information in the latest leak, along with a picture of what he says is the Note 8.

Among its rumoured specs is a dual lens camera, a 6.3-inch SuperAMOLED display and a whopping 6GB of RAM.
It will be similar to its predecessors, the Galaxy S8 and S8+, in many ways – including having the same chipset. But the Note 8 is expected to be more powerful in terms of performance and will have a slightly improved placement for the fingerprint scanner.
It will also come with the usual stylus – and it will be interesting to see how Samsung packs this into the phone while maintaining its beautifully sleek exterior and form.
If you want to really know what the Note 8 will include, make sure to tune into the livestream on August 23 and get the information straight from the source.
The livestream will be available on the Samsung site, as well as on the company’s regional and press sites.
The event begins at 11am EST, which is 5pm South African time.
