Good news for those who want to get their hands on the Nothing smartphone — the Nothing Phone (1) will be launching in South Africa.
The news comes from Cellucity, who will be the first to launch the device in the local market.
Nothing Technology Limited was founded by the co-founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei, which has contributed to hype around the brand.
At present, it has launched a pair of wireless earbuds called the Nothing Ear (1), and a smartphone named Phone (1). The smartphone was announced globally in July 2022.

So what makes the device stand out?
While the phone aims to offer an intuitive experience with a focus on minimalism, its design definitely stands out.
On the back cover it features the Glyph Interface, which is made up of 900 LEDs. This gives the phone a unique aesthetic, but also serves a functional purpose as the lights can signal incoming calls, charging status, and notifications.
In terms of specs, the device has a 6.55-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s equipped with a 4500mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging, as well as a Snapdragon 776G+ chipset.
Its main camera features two lenses: a 50MP main lens and 50MP ultrawide lens. On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera.

So how much will the phone cost when it arrives in South Africa?
The price, as listed in Cellucity’s September catalogue, is R15,499. The price is subject to change however.
The phone will be available in both the black and white options.
