Oppo has announced the launch of its Find N2 Flip smartphone in South Africa, bringing another foldable device to the local market.

The company held the launch of its new device at an event in Johannesburg on 30 March. Here the company announced the availability of the device and its price, while highlighting its features.

Oppo Find N2 Flip features

If you’re familiar with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, you’ll recognize a similar clamshell folding design in the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

This means that the phone can be propped up on its lower half to take photos or to use it in a hands-free way.

But a marked difference is its large 3.26-inch secondary display. This arguably makes it more functional, providing more room to display apps and use tools while the phone is closed.

You can even use an interactive pet on the cover screen, with the small animal changing according to the time, app usage, and battery percentage.

Other features include the ability to preview messages, send quick replies, and take selfies.

Its main, foldable display measures 6.8 inches. This AMOLED screen has an FHD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.

For its main camera, the smartphone features a dual-lens setup. This includes a 50MP main lens and 8MP ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, for its front-facing camera, the phone has a 32MP lens.

The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor, which is accompanied by a 4300mAh battery.

It also features 44W Super VOOC charging support. According to Oppo, this translates to being able to charge your phone to 50% within 23 minutes.

So when will the phone be available in stores and how much will it cost?

The Oppo Find N2 Flip has a recommended retail price of R29,999 in South Africa. You can also opt for a contract starting at R1,119 per month.

It will be available in stores from 31 March.
