Vivo has launched its latest V-series smartphones in South Africa, as the V27 5G and V27e go on sale locally.

The company is holding a launch event in Johannesburg on 6 June, where it will showcase the devices.

Here’s what you should know about the smartphones and their prices for South Africa.

Vivo V27 5G

The V27 5G is the largest of the two devices and features a variety of premium specifications. This includes a 6.78-inch AMOLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Despite its larger screen size, Vivo states that it’s also its thinnest phone with a 3D curved screen in the company’s history. The device measure 7.36mm-thick and weights 180 grams.

The V27 5G also comes with a Dimensity 7200 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 4600mAh battery. It also supports 66W fast charging.

For its main camera, the smartphone includes a triple-lens setup. This includes a 50MP main lens, 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens.

On the front, it features another 50MP lens for its selfie camera.

The V27e is a more compact and affordable package. It includes a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and includes the MediaTek Helio G99 processor.

Its main camera setup differs from the V27 5G, as it’s equipped with a 65MP main lens, 2MP bokeh lens, and 2MP macro lens.

The front camera features a 32MP lens.

However, other specifications are similar, including its 4600mAh battery, 8GB of RAM, 66W charging support, and 256GB of on-board storage.

It also comes in a striking colour option with its Lavender Purple version.

Vivo V27 5G and V27e price for South Africa

The phones are now available at major retailers and mobile providers.

The V27 5G has a recommended retail price of R16,999, while the V27e has a price of R11,999.
