Portable power stations are a popular way to mitigate loadshedding — and energy solutions company EcoFlow has announced the launch of three new portable power stations in South Africa.
The launch of the devices officially brings the Delta 2 and River 2 series to the country.
Here’s a look at the new portable power stations and their prices for South Africa.
EcoFlow Delta 2
EcoFlow refers to this as the “pinnacle of what EcoFlow currently offers in South Africa”. The 12kg power solution features a capacity of 1kWh and a total output of 1800W through its four AC outlets. Its max power delivery, with X-Boost enabled, is 2400W.
The Delta 2 is also suitable for appliances with a higher power draw, such as a washing machine or even power tools and coffee makers.
You can also expand the power capacity with additional batteries, increasing the device’s capacity up to 3kWh.
When it comes to charging, the lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP) battery can charge from 0% to 100% in 80 minutes.
River 2 and River 2 Max
EcoFlow also launched the River 2 and River 2 Max in South Africa. These devices offer a more lightweight power solution, with the River 2 just weighing 3.5kg and the River 2 Max weighing 6.1kg.
The River 2 offers a capacity of 256Wh and an output of 300W (with up to 600W with X-Boost).
Meanwhile, the 512Wh River 2 Max has an output of 500W, which can be boosted up to 1000W.
Both portable power stations can also charge up to full capacity in under an hour.
